Non-custodial identity means only you hold the keys. TrustLayer never stores passwords, seed phrases, or private keys on any server.

Every identity artifact — keys, chat history, vouch signatures — lives locally on the user’s device, AES-GCM encrypted. TrustLayer servers never see plaintext. Even if the servers vanished tomorrow, users keep their identity and reputation forever.
