What is TrustLayer?
TrustLayer is the human trust layer for Web3 — a decentralized, non-custodial protocol on Base that publishes portable, sybil-resistant Trust Scores derived from peer vouches and on-chain proofs. Any dApp can verify a user is a real, unique human in a single Solidity call, without KYC, iris scans, or personal data collection.

TrustLayer is the reputation layer of Web3: it turns peer trust into portable cryptographic proofs that any application can read.
Why it exists
Every dApp today re-invents identity: CAPTCHAs, KYC, email logins, one-off sybil filters. Users lose portability, apps duplicate work, and PII leaks everywhere. TrustLayer replaces all of that with a single portable score that lives on Base and travels with the wallet.
How it works
- Users connect a wallet, sign a message, and claim a handle (Trust ID).
- Peers vouch for each other via QR (in-person) or chat (remote). Each vouch is an EIP-191 signature.
- The Trust Score Engine hashes vouches, streaks, and on-chain activity into a Merkle root every hour.
- Any dApp reads the score directly from Base or via the REST API — zero server dependency.
