The Human Trust Layer for the open internet
TrustLayer Protocol is a decentralized human trust layer that lets any person prove they are real, unique and reputable — without surrendering their identity to a central server. It combines wallet-verified credentials, privacy-safe proof of personhood and peer-to-peer attestations into a portable trust score that any app can consume.
Why a human trust layer matters
The internet was built for packets, not for people. Every platform re-invents identity, spam filtering and reputation in a closed silo, and every user pays the cost in passwords, KYC uploads and tracking. The Human Trust Layer flips this model: identity and trust live with the user, anchored to a public ledger, and any application can verify them through an open standard.
That single primitive unlocks sybil-resistant communities, fairer airdrops, spam-resistant messaging, real reviews, peer credit and reputation-gated access — all without a custodian.
Proof of personhood
Each profile is verified by mutual signing between distinct humans, not by uploading documents.

How TrustLayer works
A new user connects a Web3 wallet through WalletConnect and signs an EIP-191 message to prove control of the address. That signature unlocks an identity key generated locally and encrypted with AES-256-GCM in the browser. From there, every interaction — a chat, a video call, a mutual proof — produces a signed attestation that increments the user's trust score. The trust algorithmweights diversity (40%), interaction depth, anti-collusion checks and on-chain anchoring to make the score sybil-resistant by construction.

TrustLayer Protocol is built and maintained as an independent, non-custodial public good. The codebase is engineered with security-first defaults: row-level security on every database table, service-role edge functions for sensitive flows, and strict client-side encryption for user keys. We publish every change in the open and treat the community as the ultimate source of authority — not any single company.
